Skilled Migration Options

University and other qualifications
If you have formal Degree or Diploma, you may be eligible for an Australian Permanent Resident visa. This visa is a ‘points’ tested visa based on your occupation, age, language skills and work history. To obtain a FREE assessment, email us your resume including your age, education and work history.

Trade qualifications
If you have formal based trade qualifications or strong evidence of work experience in a trade area you may be eligible for an Australian Permanent Resident visa. To obtain a FREE assessment, email us your resume including your age, education and work history.

Business Owners, Investors and Senior Executives
An option for those people who have the necessary background to start and/or run an existing business.  There are a number of options available.  There is one Permanent Resident visa option available and, depending on your business background, your options may include State / Territory sponsorship under a provisional category that leads to permanent residency.

In a SNAPSHOT the following options may be available to you :

Business Talent Permanent Residency requirements

  • Net assets in a qualifying business of A$400,000 for at least 2 out of 4 fiscal years immediately before application for this visa.
  • Annual turnover of your main business (can combiner two main businesses) is at least A$3,000,000 in at least two of the four fiscal years immediately before application for this visa.
  • Have total assets have a net value of at least A$1,500,000, (can combine with your spouse’s assets) and is capable of being transferred to Australia within two years of being granted this permanent resident visa.
  • Be under 55 years of age and have a ‘vocational’ level of English language ability.

Other Business Options under Provisional Status :

Business Owners

  • Business net assets of A$200,000 in 2 out of 4 fiscal years immediately before application for this visa. (A publicly listed company must have owned at least 10% of the business in the 2 out 4 years).  You can combine your Spouse’s business and you can combine two businesses to reach this figure.
  • The annual turnover of business(es) is at least A$500,000 in 2 out of 4 fiscal years immediately before application for this visa.
  • Total (personal and business ownership) assets (including spouse’s) have a net value of at least A$500,000 and are capable of being transferred to Australia within 2 years of being granted this visa.
  • Main applicant must be under 45 years of age and have a vocal level of English.

State or Territory Sponsored Business Owners

  • Ownership interest in a main business(es) (can combine 2 business) with an annual turnover of at least AUD$300,000 in 2 out of 4 fiscal years immediately before application for this visa.

            Or

  • You are a senior manager (for 3 out of the last 5 years).
  • Total assets (and spouse) have a net value of at least AUD$250,000 and is capable of being transferred to Australia within two years of being granted the visa.
  • Aged 55 years or younger (but waivers apply for exceptional people!)

Senior Executive

  • Occupied a position in the three highest levels of the management structure of a major business.
  • Total assets (and spouse) have a net value of at least A$500,000, and is capable of being transferred to Australia within 2 years of obtaining this visa.
  • Under 45 years of age. Have vocational English.

State or Territory Sponsored Senior Executive

  • Occupied a position in the three highest levels of the management structure of a major business.
  • Total assets (and spouse) have a net value of at least A$250,000, and is capable of being transferred to Australia within 2 years of obtaining this visa.
  • Under 55 years of age.

Investor

  • This visa is for successful Investors of at least 3 years experience with direct management of investments total value of that investment was at least A$1,500,000 (and spouse) with an excellent record of business management skills, and / or an ownership interest of equate to 10% of the total value of a business.
  • Personal net value of assets (and spouse) was at least A$2,250,000 for 2 years immediately before applying.
  • Make a designated investment in an approved in a state or territory of Australia fund of at least A$1,500,000.
  • Under 45 years old.
  • Have a vocational level of English.

State or Territory Sponsored Investor

  • 3 years experience with direct management of investments (and spouse) total value of that investment was at least A$750,000.

        Or

  • Ownership interest (and spouse interest) of at least 10% of the total value of a business.
  • Personal net assets (and spouse) of at least A$1,250,000. Make a designated Investment of at least A$750,000 in a state or territory of Australia. Under 55 years old.

Employer Sponsored

Temporary workers
This visa allows a skilled worker to stay for up to 4 years by an Australian Employer, Overseas Company or Service Provider to ‘sponsor’ the worker.  This visa is suitable for Corporations and small businesses. 

Permanent Workers
This visa allows for the Employer to retain a skilled worker under a permanent resident visa.  The highlights of this visa class is that it allows for the employer to have greater flexibility and stability in its work force and at the same time, offer the employee stability.

Family Stream visas

Spouse / Partner

Spouses and Partners of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens have a range of visa options to apply under such as fiance, married or de facto partners and interdependent partners (in a same-sex relationship). This class of visa application can be quite complicated with the amount of paperwork and documentation required.  Our immigration adviser has extensive experience in this area leading an excellent visa grant percentage.

Parent

There are a number of Parent visas available if the Parents have a child in Australia who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.  There is a government limitation on applications and the process can be quite expensive.  GFM would be well placed to advise and guide you in this process to a successful conclusion (and grant) of the visa.

Child

Visas for dependent children, adopted children or orphan relatives of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen would be eligible to apply for this visa class.

Family Sponsored Visitor

You can sponsor a close family member to stay for up to a year on a visitor visa.  This visa requires a monetary bond to be lodged to ensure the visa grant. 

Other Family

Last Remaining Relatives whose family are in Australia, Aged dependent relatives and carers of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents and eligible New Zealand citizens may apply for visas to come to Australia permanently.

Student visas

If you are interested in Studying in Australia, you need to meet certain criteria according to what ‘Level’ Australian Immigration has decided your country should be assessed at. 

IN ADDITION, parents or relatives can accompany their child under the Student Guardian visa.

Other visa stream options:

  • Occupational Trainee, Trade Skills or Professional development
  • Investor Retirement visa

           This temporary resident visa provides for those people over the age of 55 who would like to live in a regional or low population growth 
            metropolitan area.  Sponsorship by State or Territory must be obtained (but not available in New South Wales or Australian Capital Territory). 
            There is an investment component which is variable which can be tailored to your specific financial profile.  The investment is not indefinite and 
            you would require an annual income and private medical insurance.
