New Zealand Emigration & Placement information

Trying to find employment in another country can be difficult, which is why many people choose to go through an agency such as Global Migration SA. Our associated agency consultants abroad will do all they can to assist you in finding suitable employment in New Zealand, but there are things that you can do to enable them to be more effective in helping you gain employment.

One of the first things one of our team will ask for is a copy of your CV. Providing this basic information at the beginning of the application process allows our consultants to understand more about what skills and experience you have, and what type of employment you are looking for. If we do not currently have a client seeking someone with your skills and experience, our consultants will approach companies on your behalf. They will be unable to do this if they do not have the information provided on your application form.

Changes in circumstances can affect your application, particularly if there are changes in visa status or a property being sold. Our consultants need to be fully informed, so please let us know if there are any changes that will affect your job search.

If you have obtained a job offer from another company or have made your own applications, we need to know who you are applying to. It would be inefficient for our consultants to go to the same companies you have already been to, so if you are making your own applications, please let us know.

It has become blindingly evident that if you are skilled trades person you probably won’t receive a job offer if you are on the other side of the planet.

The employers need to meet you. If you are determined to immigrate to NZ then you must be prepared to go to New Zealand and present yourself.

The Risk - Do what thousands have done and get on a plane and go out there. It’s no secret that NZ is suffering in the skilled trades department. Their skilled people are going overseas or they simply do not have the skilled manpower that they need. For example, the building & construction industry continues to go off at an incredible rate.

In Christchurch alone almost every garage or workshop are on the lookout for mechanics or service technicians.

The employers want to meet who they’re going to take on. So, if you think you're good enough then NZ welcomes you but they have to meet you first.
